Congratulations to Will Brighton, second Under 19 Beach Flags and Under 19 Board Race, Ben Webster, second Under 19 Beach Sprint, Max Normand, third Under 19 Board Race and Peter Rheinberger, second Over 40yrs Surf Race.

25 competitors took to the water in Sundays Carl Schaffer Handicap Swim with first place going to Pat Ridgway (off 80 sec). Will Pitkin (off 100 sec) came in second with younger sister Gracie (off 60 sec) coming in a close third. The monthly mug winner for September/October was Matt Eke with 33 points with Jane Lawrence second on 27 points. Well done to Belinda Sanders for coordinating the swim each week.

Yamba Nippers are fortunate to have such a fantastic water safety team who provide so much encouragement and assistance to our Nippers each week, building their surf knowledge, ability and confidence. Our nippers are achieving great personal achievements in the water in all surf conditions. Thank you!

It was high tide and fun times at Nippers on Sunday as the ocean left us with very little sand to manoeuvre on. For all the age groups it was a day of practice in preparation for this Sunday’s Branch Carnival being held at Main Beach. Over 50 Yamba Nippers will be representing our club and we know they will do us proud with their enthusiasm, great sportsmanship and personal achievements on the day.

Our March Past team has been training hard for the past couple of weeks and this traditional event will signal the opening of the carnival on Sunday morning. Well done team and trainers Andrea Miltiadou and Lee Johns.

Thank you to all those parents and club members that have offered assistance on the weekend. Your help is invaluable and will ensure that we have many hands on deck to assist with running a well organised carnival.

The second Nippers branch carnival is at Lennox Head on Sunday 23rd November. If your child would like to participate please return the nomination form to Kerry Lee by Sunday 16th November. If we get sufficient numbers we will travel by bus.

Our Nipper of the Week Award this week went to Telleah Neylon from the U7’s. Congratulations Telleah, your Age Managers Larry and Katie said that you gave 110% with all activities on the day. Well Done. Thank you to Sassafras Pasta & Pizza for sponsoring this award every week.

There were plenty of happy winners sharing 33 meat trays at the Yamba SLSC weekly raffles at the Yamba Golf and Country Club on Saturday evening.
