A farewell for the Yamba SLSC members heading to Gallipoli for the ANZAC Centenary will be held this Sunday at the surf club from 3pm. All supporters and sponsors are invited to come down to wish them well.

The following courses are being held by the Branch: Advanced Resuscitation Techniques (18 April), First Aid (10 May) and Spinal Management (30 May). These courses are free for all members; please contact the office if you would like to attend.

The rain didn’t deter swimmers from taking part in the Carl Schaeffer Handicap Swim over the long weekend. 19 swimmers took part on Good Friday with Luke Patricks, off 130 seconds, first, Brendan Wall, off 210 seconds, second and Don Marsh, off 190 seconds, third. Easter Sunday saw 26 swimmers line up for the swim with Cec O’Day, off 30 seconds, first, Scarlett Fahey, off 180 seconds, second and Peter Rheinberger, off 180 seconds, third. With only 5 swims remaining for this season Jane Lawrence is sitting well in front on 85 points, Todd Ives is currently second on 71 points and Joe Dougherty third with 58 points.

Thank you to our patrol members heading to Copeton Dam this weekend to provide water safety and first aid for the annual Copeton Freshwater Swim.

Yamba SLSC girls and ladies Finz swimwear is currently available from the club at the greatly reduced price of $30 until the Anzac weekend. Please contact the club during office hours.

Yamba SLSC meat raffles are on every Saturday evening at the Yamba Golf and Country Club. Jan and John Snelling, Alan Schofield and Warwick Mawhinney will be selling tickets from 5:30pm with the draw staring at 6:30pm. Go along and try you luck!
