Congratulations to Will Brighton on winning the gold medal in the Under 19 years 2km run at the Queensland State Titles held at Maroochydore last weekend. A great reward for a season of hard training! A number of club members competed in the Coffs Harbour Ocean Swim on Sunday with great results. Congratulations to Bobbie Winger, first in 60/69 yrs female 2km swim, Jim Dougherty, first in 60/69 yrs male 600m and 2km swims, Will Pitkin, fourth in 12/15 yrs male 600m swim, Gracie Pitkin, fourth in 11/14 yrs female 300m swim and Jorden Elabbasi, third in 11/14 yrs male 300m swim.

Yamba SLSC girls and ladies Finz swimwear is currently available from the club at the greatly reduced price of $30 from now until the Anzac weekend. Get in quick while most sizes are still available! Please contact the club during office hours.

It was a great celebration of all our Nippers achievements last Saturday afternoon at the end of season presentation with over 150 awards being presented for education, best and fairest, encouragement, and age champions. Congratulations to everyone! The major awards went to Malik Elabbasi for Team Person of the season, Raeyah Kapeen for Best and Fairest, and Kalani Ives for Water Events Champion, Beach Events Champion and Overall Junior Sports Person of the Season.

Yamba SLSC meat raffles are on every Saturday evening at the Yamba Golf and Country Club. John Barnier, Sachie Ardrey and Keith Bradley will be selling tickets from 5:30pm with the draw staring at 6:30pm. With 33 meat trays up for grabs, come along and try you luck!

Yamba Surf Club bar is open every Sunday afternoon 3-6pm. With a great range of cold drinks, fantastic views and football playing on the TV it’s a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
