The Yamba Ocean Swim was held on Sunday in less than favourable conditions. Well done to all competitors who braved the conditions! A big thank you to everyone who helped out on the day to ensure the event ran as smoothly as possible.

The Carl Schaffer Handicap Swim drew a strong field of competitors on Boxing Day morning with a total of 36 swimmers on the starting line. Nine year old Malik Elabbasi, off 80 seconds, came first. Joe McGrath took out 2nd place narrowly beat cousins Clinton and Steven Killen, 3rd and 4th respectively, all off 110 seconds. The next swim will be on Boxing Day morning. This popular surf swim is held every Sunday morning with registrations at 11am and the swim starting at 11:30am.

Nippers Coordinator Kerry Lee hopes all nipper families are enjoying the break and looks forward to seeing everyone back at Nippers on Sunday 11th January at Main Beach at 9:30am.

For a bit of holiday fun, Yamba Rotary will be holding its annual fun day at Yamba’s Main Beach on Sunday 18th January from 11am.

Yamba SLSC meat raffles are on every Saturday evening at the Yamba Golf and Country Club Ray O’Brien, Pat Ridgway, Steve Pettet and Rob Foster will be selling tickets from 5:30pm with the draw staring at 6:30pm. With 33 meat trays up for grabs, come along and try you luck!
