It was a busy morning at Main Beach on Sunday with over 40 patrol members completing their annual proficiency tests. Apart from completing a run-swim- run, members were tested on their resuscitation and rescue techniques. Any members who were unable to make Sundays proficiency test needs to contact Club Captain James Ryan as soon as possible.

Congratulations to Caitlin O’Mahony for gaining her IRB drivers award on Sunday morning.

A “Meet and Greet” evening to welcome all club members to the 2014/15 season is being held this Saturday evening 5-8pm at the Surf Club.

Congratulations to Yamba Nipper Kalani Ives who won the U10’s Cudgen Classic Ironperson event on Saturday.

Well done to all our nippers who tested their board and swimming skills in the tricky surf conditions on Sunday. Congratulation to U9’s Declan Simcich, our Nipper of the Week! Declan is in his first year at nippers and he has impressed his Age Manager with his great participation and sportsmanship. Carnival nomination forms for the Nipper carnival on Sunday 16 November need to be returned to Kerry Lee by this Sunday. Nipper registrations will close at the end of this month.

Mick Zucker, off 100 seconds, won Sunday’s Carl Schaffer Handicap Swim from a field of 29 starters. Kim Morgans, off 50 seconds was second across the line and Jim Hiatt, off 100 seconds crossing third. This popular swim is held every Sunday with registrations being taken at the front of the Surf Club from 11am and the race starting at 11:30am.

There were plenty of happy winners sharing 33 meat trays at the Yamba SLSC weekly raffles at the Yamba Golf and Country Club on Saturday evening. The raffles will be on again this Saturday evening with Ray O’Brien, Pat Ridgway, Steve Pettet and Rob Foster selling tickets from 5.30pm with the draw starting at 6.30pm.
