A fundraising BBQ is being held at Bunnings in South Grafton this Sunday, 28th September, by the Yamba SLSC members travelling to Gallipoli to participate in the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing in April 2015. The team of 12 boat rowers Mick Smith, Tim George, Ray Wiblen, Josh Ryan, Andrew Bell, Alan Schofield, Zac Robison, Caleb Ellem, Jo King, Leah Essex, Hannah Smith and Angela Eke will be proudly representing Yamba Surf Club and the Clarence Valley as they row in the 2 day/53km race starting in the Dardanelles and finishing at Ariburnu, between ANZAC Cove and North Beach in Turkey in April 2015.

The final proficiency test for patrol members and nipper water safety personnel will be held on Sunday 26th October.

Not long now until the start of Nippers! Nippers will commence at 9:30am Sunday 5 October at Yamba Main Beach. Yamba Nippers welcomes many new families to Yamba Surf Club after the recently held registration days. Registrations will remain open until the end of October, please contact Kerry Lee with any enquiries on 0413536944 or email yambanippers@gmail.com . Nipper proficiency tests will be held at Yamba Community Pool on Saturday 27 September 2-5pm and Sunday 28 September 9:30-11:30am. All children must have completed their preliminary proficiency test prior to the start of nippers.

The popular Carl Schaeffer Handicap Swim started recommenced on Sunday with 22 starters taking to the water. Todd Ives took out the first win for the season, closely followed by Dan Fahey and Kalani Ives. This weekly swim is on every Sunday morning with registrations being taken at the front of the Surf Club from 11am and the race starting at 11:30am.

Entries are coming in for the 5th Annual Jacob Lollback Memorial Day to be held at Main Beach on Saturday, October 4th commencing at 10am. Entries will close on Wednesday, October 1st, with late entries (with a fee) being accepted on the day. Once again the club will have strong support from the major sponsors Pacific Hotel, Finz swimwear and the Clarence Valley Council and also 4 racing boards to give away in lucky draws from our board sponsors Kracka, Dolphin, Xcel and Infront.

There were plenty of happy winners sharing 33 meat trays at the Yamba SLSC weekly raffles at the Yamba Golf and Country Club on Saturday evening. The raffles will be on again this Saturday evening with John Barnier, Sachie Ardrey and Keith Bradley selling tickets from 5.30pm with the draw starting at 6.30pm.
